Vermont ADA News

February/March

February is the shortest month and the VermontADA News is right in style…short and sweet.  During January and February we have exported many of our most active dealers to places like New York and Nashville where, as good ambassadors, they have made our  “stay at homes” proud.

Many of this year’s events and activities are “in the works” ready to become reality in the weeks and months ahead.

Contracts for Art and Antiques in Woodstock, Vermont Antiques Dealers’ summer show have been, for most dealers, emailed.  A few have been sent snail mail. Responses are due back April first. This year’s show will be held July 28th and 29th at the Union Arena in Woodstock.

Our ANTIQUING in and around VERMONT 2012 DIRECTORY is under construction and will be ready for distribution soon.  To receive a copy send a double stamped self addressed envelope to Bob Fraser, Fraser’s Antiques, 2155 Vt. Rte 11 East, Chester, Vt. 05143.  As soon as they are available he’ll send you a copy. Directories may also be found in shops and at shows.

The good folk at Stone House Antiques Center in Chester continue to hold Dealer Day the first Tuesday of every month.  The majority of dealers offer special discounts on that day and everyone raves about the refreshments.  Stone House dealers are great cooks and they scout out good antiques too.

Sad to say one of Stone House’s dealers, Jean Vaillancourt, has died. Jean’s enthusiasm for antiquing was boundless.  He was a real presence at the Center and he will be missed by many.  Sympathy also goes to another Center dealer, Pat Mitchell, on the loss of her mother.

On the bright side it’s almost time for the Cabin Fever Antiques Show to be held on Presidents weekend, February 18th, at the Mid-Vermont Christian School in Quechee.  Mosey on down and check it out.  Greg Hamilton is the new manager/owner and he promises you won’t be disappointed in this year’s roster of dealers and great merch!

Soon I’ll have news about a new Center in Southern Vermont and a former VADA member returns to the fold.  Find out about that special dealer….next month, I promise.
